“Impacting the global bleeding disorders community, ONE LIFE AT A TIME.”

Save One Life sponsorship program beneficiaries gathered on July 27 for the first fund distribution of 2024, just in time for the start of the new academic year. The distribution was attended by SOL President Myrish Antonio, HAP President Andrea Trinidad, HAP Executive Director France Alviz, and the 13 HAP beneficiaries/representatives.

Attendees are mostly from Metro Manila and nearby provinces such as Bulacan, Rizal, Antipolo, and Cavite. Two beneficiaries from Tarlac and Nueva Ecija sent representatives who traveled over five hours to collect the funds.

Each recipient received envelopes containing P9,912 in cash. They briefly shared about themselves or the beneficiaries they represented and how they planned to utilize the funds. Many mentioned using the money for medical expenses, tuition fees, school projects, and allowances, while some expressed how the funds helped cover their daily needs.

The beneficiaries happily shared their recent academic achievements. Clyde Garcia recently graduated from senior high school and is now pursuing a Bachelors in Aircraft Maintenance Technology degree. Henry Villalobos, who graduated with a degree in BS Information Technology, mentioned that the funds would support him in his job search and new chapter. Erenes Mendoza Jr., recovering from a recent serious gastrointestinal bleed, extended his gratitude to HAP and SOL through his father. HAP President Andrea also shared the success story of Peter John Tetangco, a long-time SOL beneficiary now thriving as a registered nurse in the United Kingdom.

The event was filled with gratitude, joy, and hope as the beneficiaries expressed how HAP and their generous SOL sponsors have positively impacted their lives. This partnership continues to transform lives, fulfill dreams, and improve the quality of life for individuals with hemophilia.
